x264 is a library, released under the terms of the GNU GPL, that is used for encoding H.264/MPEG-4 AVC video streams. The code, provided by Laurent Aimar, Loren Merritt, Eric Petit, Min Chen, Justin Clay, Mans Rullgard, Christian Heine, and Alex Izvorski, was written from scratch.
