With players given more freedom to determine how to play the game in Star Wars: The Empire at War, the Empire at War Patch provides new content to players, as well as the ability to play on maps made with the Star Wars: Empire at War editor. Support has also been added for auto-downloading of custom maps. Several bug fixes have been introduced. This patch corrects several issues, like the one relating to spaces being used in player names, players being kicked from a game due to the game host clicking on their name, and the issue for missing Japanese characters in the disconnect screen. This patch also includes several balancing changes , reducing the accuracy of both Empire and rebel corvettes vs. fighters/bombers by 15%, and reducing Corellian Corvette shield health by 10%. There are also some space tactical changes like rebellion starting with 2 X-wing squads instead of 3 and the reduction of Imperial Star Destroyer’s price from 5200 credits to 5000 credits.
